Fast Five Review

Directed by Justin Lin
Written by Chris Morgan
Starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, and Chris Bridges

So Fast and Furious has been around for a decade now and the series has been mostly good. The first film was a boat load of fun, the second being the same, the third was a failed attempt at trying to create a new storyline, and the fourth one went back to its roots and succeed for that reason. So which one of these is the new Fast 5 like, tons of fun, or a failed attempt at doing something a little bit out of the ordinary of these sequel.
After I saw The Fast and the Furious (the fourth film) I was wondering what the fifth film would be like. Then in November the trailer was released and holy crap it was amazing. Tons of explosions, the Rock, and all of the memorable Fast and Furious characters. Then the second trailer came out and I was even more excited seeing some more detail about the films plot.
It turns out that this film is actual a heist film. The story is about Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) recently being rescued from prison by his good friend Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) and his sister Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster). Admittedly after they become wanted and escape to the slums of  Rio de Janeiro Brazil. They suddenly realize they cant live like this so they get a gang together (Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges Sung Kang and much more) to pull of this heist.
There plan is to steel 100 million dollars from Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida) the man who piratically owns Rio de Janeiro. Diesel is also being chased by FBI officer Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) who is the best agent and will do whatever it takes to capture them. So will the heist work out and, or will Hobbs and Reyes put a stomp on there plans to have an early retirement.
First and most important, Fast 5 delivers on all of the action scenes. Each of the action scenes get your heart pumping and on the edge of your seat wondering what will be the next amazing spectacle. One action scene is near the start of the film where Toretto and Connor steal some cars. The end of the scene is breathtaking as they dive for there lives. That scene was defiantly the hilight. If I had one complaint about the action scenes it would be that the end usual is the best action scene and it was not.
Coming back is most of the characters you either loved or hated from the previous film. I liked most of the characters in the film including Tyrese Gibsons performance because I thought he executed  the jester role perfectly. His best moments are when he is with Chris Bridges aka Ludacrios becuase both seem to have a good chemistry.  Everyone else is good except maybe Paul Walker who is a bad actor. Making his fist appearance in the series is Dwayne Johnson who does a great job in his role.
Now to focus on the down points of the film. Near the a character makes a revelation that makes no sense and even in this film felt way too fake and forced. Also the script is terrible as it is filled with cringe inducing lines. The final thing I will say is that the film over stayed its welcome with a long running time of two hours and twelve minuets. Especially the begging of the film took to long to set up the story.
Overall Fast 5 is a fun ride filled with plenty of fun moments. Yes there are a good amount of flaws but in a Fast and Furious film they do not matter as much. So Fast 5 is appealing to the eye and thats all the film was trying to be.
